Classically Romantic Wedding in a Charleston Manor
Charleston wedding vendors created the dreamiest romantic wedding in a historical house filled with tall windows and breathtaking chandeliers. Designs by Hemingway styled a soft bridal look complete with a delicate bridal headpiece and a textured bridal bouquet of dried bleached ferns and garden roses. Jeanne Marie Photo was behind the lens capturing every detail that has had us glued to our phones ever since. Clearly we cannot get enough of this classically romantic wedding inspo in Charleston.
From the florist and stylist Debbie with Designs by Hemingway: When searching for a venue to create a bridal shoot in Charleston, I knew it had to have 3 things – classic architecture, floor to ceiling windows & beautiful chandeliers. The Gadsden House has all that and more! The house, circa 1798, is listed on the National Historic Register. The Federal style Charleston manor was originally built in the late 18th century by Revolutionary War hero Christopher Gadsden who presented his son with the property as a wedding gift. The home served the Gadsden family for many generations until the mid 20th century when the Historic Charleston Foundation began revitalizing the historic Ansonborough neighborhood. The house is now a wedding venue located in the heart of the historic district of Charleston.
Charleston is such a beautiful place to design a wedding. With my vintage intimate morning boudoir dresses and classic lace Claire Pettibone gowns in tow, we began our morning shoot at the Gadsden House. Our floral decor combined fresh floral blooms with dried bleached ferns and coastal elements for the table top, mantle decor and bridal boudoir. All the rooms at the house are empty & create the perfect blank canvas for styling sets & designs.
From the photographer, Jeanne Marie Photo: With the charm of the cobblestone streets, horse-drawn carriages and the stunning Federal and Colonial architecture, Charleston has always been a dream location to photograph at. I teamed up with Hawaii florist Designs by Hemingway to create our soft, romantic classic photo shoot.
Our inspiration for our shoot was the historic Gadsden House the Federal style Charleston manor with its brick exterior and clean paint colors, impressive crystal chandeliers.
Our romantic bridal session begins in the morning with a beautiful ivory, vintage lace robe. And then in the gorgeous Claire Pettibone gown, Pearle. A pretty white beaded handmade headpiece from Noon on the Moon and lush pastel floral blooms completed the vision.
How breathtakingly beautiful was this classically romantic wedding inspo in Charleston? All the elegant lace details in the wedding gowns are making our hearts burst so if you’re looking for some more bridal looks then this bridal shoot with more Claire Pettibone gowns is just what you need.
