A Bridgerton Inspired Elopement With Parrot Tulips & Painted Macarons
Today we’ve got a Bridgerton inspired elopement with color galore, and let me just tell you… it’s definitely something you’ll burn for. Lauryn Kay Photography brings this sweet couple’s story to life through romantic portraits across the villa grounds, though our favorite might just be the candid running through the topiary-lined allĂ©e that’s sweeping us straight into the Regency era! MH Events dreamed up darling details like pen sketch illustrations to dance across the paperie, pastel compotes with unique spring blooms from Small Yard Flowers to sit upon the table and an elaborate cake design that would have even Sofia Coppola calling. Jump into this Bridgerton inspired elopement with us in this charmed gallery with bright, citrusy hues below!
“I cannot stop thinking of you. From the mornings you ease, to the evenings you quiet, to the dreams you inhabit, my thoughts of you never end. I am yours, Daphne. I have always been yours.”
– Simon Basset, “Bridgerton.”
From the Photographer, Lauryn Kay Photography: Bridgerton is such an immersive experience for viewers (and a low-key obsession for our vendor team.) That is why when we came across the idyllic venue, Del Mar Villa, we all jumped at the chance to create a modern spin on the Victorian spirit to properly ring in spring.
Inspired by all the Victorian soul of the series, this shoot takes a period piece and brings it into modern times with clean and contemporary spring florals, modern rentals and a stunning real-life couple.
The dusty pink and moss color scheme with pops of vibrant spring reds and yellows bring the palette to life in this joy-filled editorial.
Our florist, Arielle of Small Yard Flowers, used locally-sourced flowers like magnolia branches, plum blossoms, and tulips to create a clean and asymmetrical feel for the floral design. Our goal for the style of the shoot was to take an intricate and lavish style and bring it into the modern age.
Our combination between contemporary and beautifully-complex were at the heart of our concept and our design in every part of the editorial. The cake had a Victorian-edge with the finely crafted icing details made by Lux Sucre.
The invitation suite by Letters and Dust is also a clean version of Victorian design; the velum detailing and the gorgeous floral illustrations perfectly play into the floral design featured in our tablescape.
Brittany’s gorgeous drawings are also featured on the colorful macaron also made by Lux Sucre. These gorgeous desserts also serve as the seating cards as well. It all plays into a beautiful–yet restrained–display of opulence and color and this incredible estate.
Through the juxtaposition of intricate and asymmetrical we were able to create a symphony of beauty because, as in “Bridgerton,” sometimes opposites do work perfectly together.
We need more Bridgerton wedding inspiration in our lives, please and thank you! Be sure to check out this lavish spring wedding inspiration on deck – particularly if you find yourself drawn to the colorful parrot tulips in today’s elopement!
