Here are 5 Styling Tips for a Stunning Last Minute Thanksgiving Table
Thanksgiving is around the corner, and if you’re hosting this year and have not thought of the table setting just yet, we are going to show how you can easily recreate this Farm-to-table look, Joanna Gaines style. Most of items you might already have at home, so take note for these 5 last minute Thanksgiving table styling tips!
1. Foraged branches
Wanna know what’s a gorgeous and FREE way to dress up your table? Foraged florals. Embrace the season by bringing the outdoors in. Use dried branches in your decor like in this suspended centerpiece, which makes room on the table for the biggest stars on Thanksgiving: THE FOOD!
Foraged arrangements and dried florals are easy to create and don’t require maintenance aside from silk florals (like this woodsy bouquet)
2. Make room for sharing with minimal decor items on the table
Setting the table for Thanksgiving is easy in the way that you don’t need much to decorate it. The more breathing room your table has, the better it will be for passing plates and chatting with guests. What does that mean? Focus on bringing warmth and texture rather than visuals. Choose the right tablecloth or runner depending on the direction you’d like to go, lighting the room with the mood you’d like to set. The food dishes you’ll set the table will take care of the rest.
The secret for creating a cohesive last minute Thanksgiving table is to be strategic with the items you’re using.
3. Display breads, spreads and charcuterie
Break out all of your wedding registry gear! Thanksgiving is all about hosting and welcoming guests, so all of the entertaining items you already have will come into play. Pretty cheese boards, cutting boards, knives and ceramicwares will be put to good use.
4. Use what you already have in the kitchen!
You can’t talk farmhouse style without mentioning cheesecloth and mason jars (yes, we just went there). These are items usually used for cooking that you use to set the table. These tall skinny jars come in a pack of 12 and turn into great drinking glasses for a minimal farm table look. Pair these drinking glasses with a minimal + clean china to balance out the rustic vibes.
5. Pair down the colors on your tablescape to no more than 2.
We love how Fiona Louise Design designed this minimal farmhouse tablescape mainly incorporating the wood tones from the table and surroundings with white on the cheesecloth and candles. The gold touches on the candleticks add warmth and make the bread and compote spreads + honey visually pop. Remember to group items in odd numbers, like you see here the candlesticks are grouped into 3s.
