Fine Art Elopement Inspiration Turned Surprise Proposal
Want to see something that will make you weep? Today’s elopement inspiration is *drumroll please* a real proposal in disguise! Rocking a layered silk organza gown in dusty blue, Alathea expected to play bride for an elopement inspiration in the wild. But her husband-to-be was way ahead of her with his thoughtfully devised plan to get down on one knee. He proposed forever amidst a crescent moon of pampas grass and harmonious blooms, and just wait until you see her wide-eyed grin the moment it hits her. There won’t be a dry eye after you see these images from Allen Tsai Photography!
From the planner, Keestone Events: When Jason reached out to Allen Tsai, a photographer in Dallas to take images of his proposal, imagination ran wild and a story was concocted that would both take the bride-to-be entirely by surprise.
Alethea and Jason are no strangers to styled shoots. Alethea, (the bride-to-be) has been in the wedding industry for a while, and we met when she worked for Watters, the wedding dress designer. Both have been models for former wedding inspiration shoots in the past and the plan was for them to pose once more in front of the camera as muses for an elopement.
We have found that the best way to spring a surprise is for the concept to be simple and not overly detailed. Alethea was to get her hair and makeup done, and meet up with Jason at the proposed location for a very clean and organic elopement installation. You can see in the images exactly when Jason got on bended knee to pop the question! He waited until a few shots were taken and when they faced each other to read the elopement vows to the other. The rest is history.
(Fun fact- what was supposed to be staged elopement vows were actually personalized to the couple. She didn’t get a chance to read those vows before he proposed!)
The venue and vendors involved were all in on the plan, and we were all so excited that it was finally her turn to be engaged!
