Every Day is Galentine’s Day Especially When Cherry Reds & Blush Pinks Are Involved
To quote the genius Leslie Knope, “What’s Galentine’s Day? Oh, it’s only the best day of the year!” Whether you’re celebrating ladies or planning a February bridal shower, you’re going to love this unforgettable and totally Instagrammable party. Flora and Whim planned a gorgeous soirée with a champagne escort display, the prettiest festive desserts and cherry red anthuriums. So yea, we are 100% swooning over every photo by Blue Rose Photography. This epic celebration is one for the books and while it might be Valentine’s Day today, Galentine’s Day is our favorite holiday of the year especially when it includes the prettiest red and pink roses.
From the photographer, Blue Rose Photography: It may be Valentine’s day but this one’s for the ladies! This modern, romantic Galentine’s event designed by Emily Muddiman of Flora & Whim has all of the inspiration you need for your February Bridal Shower. From the bold feminine blooms, acrylic elements and pops of red to the custom designed “lady sketches” incorporated throughout the event, this Galentine’s celebration has us swooning!
From the planner + designer, Flora and Whim: From the very beginning, I wanted the event to feel like a celebration of modern femininity. The invitation included a keepsake sketch on vellum of our custom “lady lines” for each attendee to keep. The gold foil on the invitation also created a luxe modern aesthetic from the very beginning.
From there, we incorporated the “lady lines” throughout the end on the invitations, the cake and ghost chairs. I wanted each attendee to see herself in the sketches… all different and all beautiful! Guests were welcomed with champagne atop a beautiful display with the motivational “Follow your Heart.” Each woman found the heart with their name and table number on it and followed it to their seats.
Each lady found her seat, complete with modern ceramic china, mismatching pink glassware, gold flatware and lush velvet linens in a beautiful dusty rose. Acrylic name place cards featured a bold red tassel and a custom compliment for each lady— everything from “You are amazing at what you do! to You are beautiful inside and out!”
Our custom cocktail, inspired by Craft and Cocktails, was a tweak on her “Flower of Love” gin sour. The drink featured gin, hibiscus cardamon simple syrup, rose water, lemon and egg white froth and was garnished with rose petals and chamomile flowers.
The flowers, created by Emily of Flora & Whim, featured blooms in varying shades of pinks, corals and red. They were inspired by Glossier’s blooms. Emily incorporated anthurium, roses, hydrangea, cymbidium orchids, butterfly ranunculus, chamomile flowers and dyed babies breath (such a huge trend right now… did you see Mandy Moore’s ceremony arch?)! Centerpieces sat in gold “plant stand” style vessels.
We have some serious party envy with this Galentine’s Day celebration in cherry reds and blush pinks that is b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l from start to finish. If you’re throwing a party or a bridal shower, then here are a few of our favorite tips to stay on budget!
